Adventist Christians embrace a very special message, i.e. the Three Angels’ Messages, and a very special mission, i.e. to share the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ in every nation on planet earth just prior to His Second Coming (See Rev. 14:6-12; MaL. 24:14). Sadly, critics are seeking to erode our faith in some key teachings of the Adventist faith – (1) the belief in the prophetic guidance of the spirit of prophecy, (2) the blessing of the seventh-day Sabbath as God’s eternal sign, (3) the importance of the Law of God as the apocalyptic seal of God, (4) God’s purpose for the end-time remnant church, and (5) the arrival of a special time of judgment in the heavenly sanctuary. This series will survey these timely teachings, confirm their biblical foundation, and show that “we have not followed cunningly devised fables” (2 Pet. 1:16), but rather stand on the solid ground of Scripture.
Wednesday, June 11th @ 7pm - “The Bible and the Bible Only” (Free dinner at 6pm)
Seventh-day Adventists uphold the Protestant principle of Sola Scripture, i.e. “Scripture Alone.” Adventists also value the writings of Ellen G. White, whom they identify as a prophetic messenger. How do Adventists square Sola Scripture while claiming the inspiration of Mrs. White’s writings? This message will examine the important question of the relationship between Scripture and Mrs. White’s work.
Thursday, June 12th @ 7pm - “Repairers of the Breach” (Free dinner at 6pm)
Seventh-day Adventists, who identify as “repairers of the breach” (Isa. 58:12-14), observe the seventh-day Sabbath as a special day of rest that was sanctified by God at the end of Creation Week. How do Adventists harmonize the observance of this day in light of Scriptures that allegedly say that Christians are “not under the law,” as well as the popular idea today that Sunday is allegedly now the new Christian Sabbath? This message will evaluate these ideas against the evidence in Scripture.
Friday, June 13th @ 7pm - “Signed, Sealed and Delivered” (Free dinner at 6pm)
Seventh-day Adventists embrace the seventh-day Sabbath as God’s eternal sign of faithfulness. Adventists also understand the Sabbath to be an integral piece to the apocalyptic seal of God’s Law at the very end of human history. This message will demonstrate how God’s Law forms His apocalyptic seal in Revelation, and survey the specific role of the Sabbath in this apocalyptic seal.
Sabbath, June 14th @ 11am - “One Mesage, One Mission, One Shepherd”
Seventh-day Adventists have always considered themselves the remnant people of God ever since the establishment of the church in the mid-19th century. Yet, critics claim that Adventists see themselves as being better than other Christians because of this remnant identity. What does the Bible teach about the “remnant” church? What particular qualities does God’s “remnant” church reflect? This message will confirm the specific identity of the “remnant” church and what important qualities this church will reveal at the very end of human history.
Sabbath, June 14th @ 7pm - “Investigating the Investigative Judgment” (Free dinner at 6pm)
Seventh-day Adventists believe in a pre-Advent judgment that they have labeled the “investigative judgment.” Critics claim that this idea is an attempt by Adventists to explain away and justify the Great Disappointment of 1844, and allege that the notion of an investigative judgment prior to Christ’s return cannot be sustained by Scripture. This message will investigate the teaching of the investigative judgment from Scripture, to see if it aligns with the biblical teaching of God’s judgment.
